I had a basil plant I neglected like hell and barely managed to keep alive for ~2 years. By the end of its life after several rounds of barely surviving me forgetting to water it for a week or two, its stems had become woody. I don’t know if all mature basil stems harden or if that was a consequence of my plant abuse
For instance (no spoilers) unit groups are built-in to base management. No hotkeys or group micro management required. It happens automatically as a functional result of more obvious concerns.
as someone who struggles with unit groups in AoE (the only RTS I play, cuz I suck at it lol) this intrigues me
that actually sounds really fun
edit: it exists!
hyena incels: both :(

44·1 month agomy mom has the vaccine mark! I remember asking her about it as a young kid and that being the first time I ever learned about vaccines. the idea that we “use germs to train our immune systems to fight them” was so cool to me. no wonder I went into biochem when i grew up (courtesy of having parents who didn’t let me die to preventable diseases lol)

at a previous lab we had “PCR amulets” (little plastic animals)
the failure rate was SIGNIFICANTLY higher when you used a machine without placing a plastic animal on it
i kept threatening to cut one open to see if it had a magnet inside and my supervisor warned me that a grad student might cut me open if I damaged any of the animal amulets lmao
