Not in the picture:
- Subaru screaming “EMILIA-TAN!!!” and saying she eats the cutest or something like this.
- Himmel too busy posing for a statue, because he knows Frieren will visit that place again in the future.
- Falyn curious on what they’re eating.
- Naoe low-key losing his marbles at Elfuda’s meal.
Wait, who is the one at the end? Is that Tsundere Elf from Uncle from Another World?
Rightmost one is Elfuda from Plus-Sized Elf.
If that’s Marceline her ears should be shorter and spoiler for those who haven’t read the manga chapter 68 and can’t put 2 and 2 together I guess…
Tap for spoiler
also she’s a half-elf. I only point it out because that’s an important plot point in the manga, she is not an elf.
Her ears aren’t any smaller in the manga/anime, compared to other elves in the story. Each of the elves here are depicted the way they appear in their series (Emilia’s ears are quite small).
Your comment is also a bit of a spoiler for anime watchers.
You are right about the ear length, I remembered them a tad bit rounder.
Tap for spoiler
In fact, how other elves in the series treat her and that her ears are notably rounder than other elves in Dungeon Meshi is very noticeable before someone mentions her race. It was revealed half-passing because the audience caught on a while ago. It’s an important plot point, but the reveal is not that important. I’ve checked and elves have been shown in the anime so it’s not like that community can’t also make the connection
.
About the spoiler, sorry I guess? I’ll spoiler it, but the manga has finished 2 years ago,
Tap for spoiler
the race confirmation was 5 years ago. It’s their choice if they want to not finish it.
And the anime is only halfway.
And there are plenty sites where you can read if you don’t want to get spoiled. It’s not like I complain about getting spoiled of Kingdom’s or other historical comic’s plot if someone mentions Chinese history… It’s been 5 years since the “reveal”.
And this is a valid excuse to not care, and not even try?
Why don’t you complain? It works. I got you to add a tag, didn’t I?
So, people that are able to freely comment on things of a medium have to tip toe around new fans of an adaptation of the medium when the adaptation releases? I find that unfair. I’ll change the comment if someone mentions it out of politeness, but I refuse to keep track of all the adaptations of the mediums I have read. There’s way too many comics I read and I consume zero anime.
You are expecting me to keep track of all the new adaptations of the mediums I read in case someone isn’t able to have context. I didn’t know that Dungeon Meshi had an anime adaptation, it’s unreasonable to expect me to keep track of all of the anime adaptations of all the comics I read, I hope you agree on that.
I do…
But you’d also be spoiling the manga for people who haven’t read it yet.
I’m talking about discussing stories in general. “You’ll ruin it for the anime watchers” is only slightly more relevant than “you’ll ruin it for people who haven’t read it yet”.
You can’t assume everyone has experienced every half-decent piece of media that has ever existed. And especially if it’s good, they might want to someday. It’s not their fault they haven’t heard about it or had the time, and if you care about them, or the piece of media, that should be your problem.
You can’t just go “they should have read it then”. That’s a stance that genuinely makes want to tell you to fuck off instead of being polite about this. Add to it the childish passive agression in your edits, and I’m a putting some real effort into being nice here.
Giving people the option to stay oblivious to how a story goes whether that piece was published a decade or a century ago, takes absolutely no effort.
Whether there’s a recent adaption or not, doesn’t change squat.
