About time! It’s a shame it comes after the death and corpse defilement of Right Stuf though.

If it ends up being a tie, we can reasonably assume that you are this reality’s keystone.

Planetes. I showed up for the sci fi, stayed for the wholesome.

You already have them all ☹️

I’m so not-hip I need a new hip.

The store was a ghost town for months before the “update.” Truly flooding the grave of TRSI with piss.

I’m one of those crazy people that actually purchases media of the things I enjoy. I spent a lot of money on Right Stuf over the decades. Apparently Sony doesn’t want that money. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Truck-kun… ya can’t park there, mate.

If I had Gintama DVDs, I wouldn’t be watching on CR lol. I meant just DVDs in general.

The non-serious arcs of Gintama are the best and it peaked between episodes 278 and 291

We got bogged down around 150 or so and still haven’t gotten rolling again despite several attempts. Overall we love the show, guess it was just a bit of burnout. Also doesn’t help that CR streams it in smearyvision. I have 25+ year old DVDs that look crisper.

MAAMAAAAAAAAAAA!

i have heard from more than one person now that these are hit or miss

When they hit, they hit like a truck.

Seconding the other user’s recommendation of Zipang.

Crest/Banner of the Stars does some great space opera/battles. Gasaraki is a mix of mech, mystical, and military. Area 88 (original OVA) is an extremely bleak look into a foreign-legion style barracks. (There’s also a newer short series which hit a lot of the same notes but I don’t really remember it very well.) Grave of the Fireflies is a heartbreaking look at the other side of war. Not what you asked for, but thematically relevant. And obligatory Gundam rec for those that haven’t watched all of them: 08th MS Team for that on the ground in the thick of things feel, and Igloo for small side stories about OYW events that don’t grab the spotlight.

You also might want to look into the Fire Emblem game series. Not anime, but anime chess in a (usually) medieval war setting.

Soul Education intensifies

I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around watching it and wanting more.
