Inititially Code Geass in like 2013, but I stopped after the 1st episode. I think the style put me off. Haven’t given it a try since (but I should). Then to give anime another shot: SAO. It’s a cliché 1st anime but after that I was hooked.
The wild thing is, I believe my 2nd anime (I guess technically 3rd) was High School DxD. Or at least I dove into ecchi anime pretty soon after beginning to watch anime.
Lots of anime tbh, but I’ve noticed KyoAni stuff is the best at it
K-On was devastating tbh. CGDCT anime are typically very happy-go-lucky, so any emotional moment hits pretty hard.
I did attempt to watch it a long time ago and I just really didn’t like it.
I’d like season 2 first… I’m reliant on the UK versions. We have 2 season 1 releases for some reason (1 by AllTheAnime and the other, years later, by CR), but none of the others.
So far, I’m only watching Clevatess S2. Its OP can’t be compared to S1’s.
The anime is still enjoyable, but unfortunately it does seem to fall into the stereotypical magic school tropes, as I was afraid of. A prestige magic school with a dark secret, social hierarchy decided by aptitude for magic, and pompeous rich twats that think they’re all that. The main characters and the wider setting make up for it though.
I started watching JoJo season one, eight episodes in. I dunno, it’s not grabbing me.
Absolutely fair. The 1st arc, Phantom Blood, of JoJo is also by far the weakest and sometimes kind of a slog. It is an important one though.
The 2nd arc, Battle Tendency, is where it starts getting good. That one starts at ep 10 I believe.
It’d be great if the article mentions what the controversy actually is. All it says is that there is controversy about some things related to Islam. Pretty useless article tbh.

Yeah, I won’t continue with this anime because of that.
Not like intentionally crying sad, more like in a pitiful/pathetic way. Most comedic moments depend on jokes about actual addicts in frankly deplorable situations and some kind of substance abuse and that’s very uncomfortable to me.
I fully get it’s exaggerated and I’m probably looking too much into it, but it feels like the show is making fun of addicts. Not just smoking, but also drugs. So like, sad that the creators had to stoop to this level.

Oh shit. The manga is pretty wild, so definitely curious about the adaptation
I didn’t know there’d be a 2nd season. Here’s hoping they manage to reach the same heights as the first season.
