    I agree with you overall, and I do try to be mindful with reveals like “X dies, Y was Z’s kid, they were siblings secretly” and so on where the reveal spoils the plot until it if you know it early, but I do want to recontextualize that we are talking about

    Marceline’s race, that doesn’t become an important plot point until after it’s mentioned for the first time, it’s not a big reveal until later it’s expanded upon. It’s not really an spoiler without the context of why it’s important.

      Her race itself is a far smaller spoiler, than your explicit statement that her race is a central plot point.

      That kind of hint, is the type that can send some people down a chain of conclusions that together with other already revealed details allow for people to see Marcille becoming the dungeon master coming.
